Dylan's Soccer
Dylan had such a great time playing soccer in the spring when we were in Idaho, so we were excited to get him back into soccer for the fall. It was crazy how much different soccer changed for him in just 6 months. In Idaho, he was one of the two kids on the team that actually cared to play. The others were wrestling on the field, tackling each other (same team of course), or just wanting to sit on the sidelines. They always won their games since the other teams were the same way. The team here was so different! They were ready to play some serious soccer. Most of the kids were actually pretty good so I loved watching them play!
We loved Dylan's coaches - Coach Mike and Coach Sara. They were so good with the kids. They found all sorts of games to play with the kids that helped with their skills. Dylan's favorite was "Cat and Mouse" where they started with one cat (the coach) and the kids were the mice. They would try to dribble their ball the width of the field without the cat kicking their ball into the goal. If their ball was kicked into the goal, they would become a cat too in order to get rid of all the mice. He loved it and was really good at it!
I'm hoping he wants to play again in the spring, but right now he thinks he wants to try baseball and one sport at a time is plenty. With soccer they had hour practices twice a week and then games on Saturday. That kept us plenty busy!! I guess we'll keep soccer as the fall sport and try baseball for the spring.
